Yes. Every mochila is hand-woven by Wayuu artisans in Colombia. Each bag is unique and small variations are part of its authenticity.
Most of our pieces are sourced directly in La Guajira, the heart of Wayuu weaving. We also curate select designs from other regions of Colombia. Product pages note origin when known, and all orders ship from the USA.
Depending on size and pattern, a single artisan typically spends about 10 days to complete one mochila—working on and off alongside family and community routines.
We’re not certified by a third-party Fair Trade program. We buy directly from Wayuu artisans at mutually agreed prices and maintain long-term relationships.
